These images of Port Douglas will make anyone not currently there extremely jealous

Sometimes we forget we live in paradise. Local videographer Rian Cope and a group of photographers are here to remind us.

Local videographer Rian Cope has picked up a cash prize of $2500 after scooping the top prize in the annual Show Me Your Paradise competition, organised by Tourism Port Douglas and Daintree to showcase the region.

When you watch Rian's short clip, it's easy to understand why he won.

Entrants were invited to put together a 30-second clip highlighting what they loved about the region, so long as it included one or more themes of village life, hidden gems, Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, outdoor adventure, Indigenous culture, beaches, nature and wildlife, or food, wine and lifestyle.

Given his love of outdoor adventure, it's no wonder Rian's focus in the clip centred on diving, mountain bike riding and stand up paddle boarding.

Check out the gallery below featuring the winners of the photography section of the competition, including stunning images by Jodi Noden. Daniel Kiritsis, Tony Jose, and Andrea Moore.
