Workshop helps region stand out from the crowd in global markets

Our region is known around the world for its natural wonders, idyllic locations and as a great holiday destination and now TNQ's tourism operators have the chance to make sure we further stand out from the crowd.

Advertising, marketing, PR, video and brand gurus will present the TNQ Tourism Small Business Development Program's Building Your Brand's Creative Content workshop at Port Douglas on November 1.

The workshop will cover video content and images and creating a positive image with public relations, with Tourism Tropical North Queensland director leisure sales and marketing Jane Wilson saying it was a chance for tourism operators to learn how to build a brand that "wows" from the first impression.

"The workshop will assist businesses to present their product in a compelling way to get greater cut through in a very competitive and cluttered media market," she said.

"Destination marketing is extremely competitive and it is vital that TNQ stands out from other destinations if we are to grow visitation.

"TNQ has a reputation for hunting as a pack as individual operators work with TTNQ to promote the destination together at Australian and international trade events.

"Individual operators need to ensure their brand clearly underpins their product.

"Effective branding can help build your reputation, make you stand out from your competition and project your values to attract your ideal client.

"The creative content workshop will assist with pointers on how to achieve this."

This is the second time the workshop has been held in TNQ this year with the first one in Cairns in August.

The workshop will be delivered by Daniel Lyngcoln from Brandtree, Danae Jones from Danae Jones Consulting, Pip Addison from Modern Style and Philip Warring from PhlipVids and .

TTNQ is planning to host the workshop again in 2018.
