      Your Exciting, New Role

      Reporting to the Executive Manager Infrastructure, Works and Projects, you are in charge of contributing productively to the organisation and community through the effective planning, coordination and delivery of quality and timely building services and project outcomes in this hands-on role. You will have direct contact with members of the community and employees.

      The Skills You Bring

      • Your experience in the ‘hands-on’ maintenance and construction and knowledge of a range of trades will be very much relied upon
      • You have a relevant Trade Certificate
      • You have a Clear Federal Police Check and a current driver’s license
      • Having worked in a similar position you are an expert in managing and coaching contractors and tradesman associated with the construction and building industries
      • You have a good understanding of estimating and monitoring cost centre accounting and budgetary processes
      • You have cultural knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and are responsive and communicate sensitively and effectively
      • You are tech savvy and your grasp of PC based applications is astonishing
      • You are efficient, self-motivated and hard-working with strong organisational and administrative skills

      To be considered for this role, you will require:

      • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Civil Construction Industry in a same or similar role;
      • Experience managing Main Roads Projects and be familiar with their practices;
      • Strong communication skills;
      • Management and leadership abilities;
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word;
      • High levels of attention to detail, including a high regard for quality and safety;
      • A proactive approach towards problem solving;

      • Compiling and assessing progress claim;
      • Carry out formal inspections of the workplace and work tasks, make site visits where a site work is spoken to directly about OH&S in the workplace.

      The Skills You Bring

      To be considered for this role, you will require:

      • Minimum of 2 years’ experience on Transport and Mains Roads Projects;
      • Australian recognised Engineering Degree;
      • Well-developed communication skills;
      • Ability to interpret plans and drawings;
      • Management and leadership ability;
      • Problem-solving ability;
      • Able to manage and run a business enterprise;
      • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite products.
