DEBATE RAGES OVER FESTIVAL VENUE
Cairns Regional Council and the Grass is Greener organisers are pointing the finger at each other over a shock venue change away from Fogarty Park.
The council says it is "disappointed" the festival organisers chose to move away from Fogarty Park after refusing to sign up to conditions imposed on the venue. But TGIG co-founder Oli Frost says council "back-flipped" on its support for staging the music event at the site.

ANGER OVER LACK OF NORTH AUSTRALIA ACTION
Advance Cairns chair Trent Twomey has lashed out at the Federal Government over the lack of action and detail on funding from the Northern Australian Infrastructure Facility.
Mr Twomey told News Corp he was "exceptionally frustrated" at the lack of clarity of energy and water projects for the Tropical North, labelling a conference underway in Cairns as a talkfest. 

TODDLER IN HOSPITAL AFTER DOG ATTACK
A Kuranda boy attacked by a dog yesterday afternoon is in a stable condition at Cairns Hospital.
The three-year-old boy suffered head injuries in the biting attack at a house in Kuranda just before 5pm yesterday.  

NORTH QUEENSLAND HOPES FOR ORIGIN
Support is building for Townsville to host a State of Origin clash when the stadium opens in 2020.
Despite some expected hurdles, league legends Kerry Boustead - the Cowboys' first CEO - and Wendall Sailor have both voiced their support for the concept.
Mr Boustead told News Corp: "I think probably North Queensland is the most passionate area in the whole of Australia for rugby league and that’s shown by the small population and how well the Cowboys are going. It would be great to do and I’m sure it would be successful."
