Port Douglas and the Daintree launches new tourism brand

The Daintree Rainforest, Great Barrier Reef, natural beauty and laidback feel are all synonymous with tourism in the Port Douglas region.

And now, Tourism Port Douglas and Daintree has launched a new look to capture what makes the region special and to help it stand out from the rest in the competitive tourism market.

Tourism Port Douglas and Daintree executive officer Tara Bennett said it was exciting to launch a new brand that represents the overlay between the Daintree Rainforest, Port Douglas and the Great Barrier Reef.

The overhaul came after extensive market research into visitor demographics, what attracted people to the region and the type of experiences tourists were after.

“It will give our region a fresh, new face in the highly competitive tourism marketing sphere,” she said.

"Our old brand was launched in 2010 and it took us a long way but it is time for a refresh.

"The brand focuses on a natural, tropical, laidback, beautiful and untamed feel, just like the Douglas region.

“The TPDD board is excited about our new brand and future direction and we believe our members will be delighted.

"The new brand will serve the region well into the future. We have real confidence to go out there and do what we do best – market our destination ahead of the competition.”

TPDD is also developing a new destination website which will be launched soon.
