Cairns business posts 'name and shame' ultimatum to young thieves on social media

A Manoora business fed up with crime has posted CCTV images of three young boys accused of stealing $1300 from its premises.

Jump Mania, located at the Raintrees Shopping Centre, posted the images on Facebook tonight and called for help to track down the children.

The post, which had already been shared over 200 times in under an hour, included an ultimatum to the three boys: "Should the thieves return the items your photos will come down from social media and the posters in our store and we will not prosecute you in court."

TropicNow is seeking comment on the alleged theft and the posting of the images from Cairns Police.

In its appeal to track down the boys, Jump Mania wrote:

"A young hard working 17 year old employee had over $1300 of value stolen from her bag tonight behind close doors in our staff room.

"The above photos are of the thieves. Should the thieves return the items your photos will come down from social media and the posters in our store and we will not prosecute you in court. We will extend this offer until 5pm on the 2nd of February. If you know these guys please talk to their parents or police.

"A massive thanks to the police who have been so helpful and professional."
