Weather set to clear up for big Show Day on Friday

It's almost become a local tradition. Just as the gates of the Cairns Showgrounds are ready to swing open for the annual fun fair of rides, stalls, exhibitions and displays, down comes the rain.

Despite a week of beautiful tropical weather, showers have been consistently falling during the morning, with more to come in the afternoon, accompanied by a light wind in the evening.

The good news is the rain is clearing tomorrow, with only a 20% chance of showers in the morning.

In even better news, there's no rain expected during the public holiday this Friday.

Up to 80,000 people are expected to visit the 2018 Cairns Show over the next few days, making it the largest regional show in Australia.
