Movie star totally clued up on world's best holiday destination

With a global social media following and headline grabbing attention everywhere she goes, a visit to our region by Clueless star Alicia Silverstone is more great news for tourism.

One of Hollywood's most famous stars is visiting the Tropical North on a family holiday with her musician husband and little son.

Judging by her Instagram feed, Clueless star Alicia Silverstone has fallen in love with Palm Cove, posting selfies on the beach and a short video of the suburb's popular beachfront playground.

Silverstone and family enjoying a kayaking trip near Cape Tribulation.

Silverstone and her family have also visited Cape Tribulation and the Daintree, where they went kayaking with Paddletrek Kayak Adventures and ziplining with Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours.

As an outspoken vegan, Silverstone also enjoyed a meal at Whet Restaurant.

"We paddled out into the ocean and went wandering into crocodile land with Pete and Gary of @capetribpaddletrek," she wrote in an Instagram post.

"They are great and kayaking was amazing!! We also went ziplining in the rainforest. Sheena of #junglesurfingcanopytours hooked that up, so fun!

"Then we had a picnic at Emmagen Creek. The #vegan food was from the restaurant Whet run by Michelle Wenden, it was one of the best meals of the trip!"

Silverstone also thanked TTNQ for their help in organising the visit.

Given her global social media following - Silverstone has 153,000 followers on Instagram and 593,000 on Facebook, the publicity from the family trip is another great boost for the region's tourism industry.
