So, will you be having an espresso martini or a Tom Collins at the pop-up cocktail bar at Meet Eat Repeat this Saturday?

Both drinks will be on offer at the funky little outdoor bar staffed by the Gin Social crew at the West Cairns Bowls Club, starting from 4pm on Saturday, November 11.

The espresso martini is made with Mr Black liqueur and Blackbird cold brew coffee, while the classic Tom Collins is mixed using the Tableland's own Mt Uncle Gin.

You can grab one of those two awesome cocktails, or for beer and wine lovers there'll be plenty of options available at both an outdoor bar and inside the bowls club.

Along with a great drinks selection, Meet Eat Repeat will also feature amazing food, great live music, and lawn games.

Q&A with Sam Kennis from Gin Social

You staffed a pop-up cocktail bar for Meet Eat Repeat at Cairns Amateurs recently. How was that?

Gin Social at Amateurs was a huge success. It gave people the option to have a drink which was outside of your standard beer or wine options. People appreciated being able to get a cocktail that was as good as those in Cairns best cocktail bars.

What are you looking forward to this Saturday at MER5?
I'm mostly looking forward to an afternoon of sampling different food from local vendors in such a relaxed atmosphere. I also can't wait to have some fun with the cocktails I'll be creating.

Why are events like MER good for Cairns?
MER and similar events are awesome for the city. They allow the community to get together and enjoy drinks and eats that they may not have tried before. It also educates locals on new operators in Cairns and they can follow the latest in food and cocktail trends all in one location.
