Grinspoon and Pete Murray the latest to light up Cairns live music scene

There is officially no stopping the live music scene in Cairns.

Following a string of big performances and announcements, from Spiderbait on Saturday night to Elton John in September, two more big names have today announced they will visit the city as part of their national tours.

Aussie rockers Grinspoon and singer-songwriter Pete Murray will play big gigs in the city in August and September respectively.

While the Tanks consistently hosts some of the best musical talent from around the nation and the globe, other venues such as The Jack and Edge Hill Tavern - which will be rocking a massive gig by Regurgitator on April 27 - are ramping up their live music rosters.

Grinspoon will play The Jack on 10 August with a special gig to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of their debut album Guide To Better Living.

The band will play the album in full in their first gigs since supporting Cold Chisel in 2015.

Pete Murray is touring on the back of a new album, and plays the Tanks on 8 September.
