When UK kayaker Chris Bucksey landed in Cairns a few days ago, he wanted to do one thing: kayak over a local waterfall.

Just 48 hours after arriving in TNQ, Chris did just that at Paronella Park.

An experienced kayaker, Chris posted on Facebook that he consulted with local kayakers and evaluated the risk before making the crazy-brave plunge.

"We are very cautious and everything is based on a risk vs reward scale. The boys I paddled with today have been running the local rivers and creeks for years," he wrote.

A video of the plunge has been viewed more than 60,000 times since it was posted on Facebook yesterday.
