Despite what the name suggests, Root offers both vego and vegan food that is guaranteed to satisfy. Offering a range of Asian inspired foods, some of their best sellers tend to sell out so it’s always good to get in early.

Pantry 15

A rainbow of tasty veggies that look like edible works of art, Pantry15 is a go to for foodies alike. For vegans though, they offer a special plant-based menu that includes everyone’s classic favs including fritter, smashed avos, and nachos, and so much more.

The Healthy Hub Cafe

Great news for green-eaters - while you're picking up your organic produce and eco-friendly products, you can also peruse The Healthy Hub Cafe's 100% vegan menu. Serving you with all the options, from 'sausage' rolls and chick'n sangers, to chocy cakes, there's something for everyone.

Guyala Café

Guyala seems to do it all, and the fact that they have plenty of plant-based options on offer has not gone unnoticed. This spot focuses heavily on local producers and suppliers, so it’s a win on all fronts. Oh and how could we forget, their Tropical Avo Toast has been crowned as an Aussie best, and their Truffle Mushrooms are a straight up winner!

Caffiend

If the coffee alone doesn’t make you want to check out this hip joint, the vegan food will! The friendly crew are happy to make a variety of dishes on the menu vegan just for you! We recommend the ‘build your own’ breakfast, which includes a variety of scrumptious side dishes such as roast pumpkin and mushrooms. Otherwise, keep an eye out for seasonal specials.

Snoogies Health Bar

A local secret, Snoogies has been around for 18 years now and continues to deliver tasty wholesome goodness. Somewhat of a vegan utopia, you'll be hard done by to not find something to fill you up.

Crave Eatery & Bar

Proving popular with tourists, Crave offers a healthy range of vegan options including tacos, poke bowls, and burritos. Plus you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to juices and smoothies, and the location is just primo.

Marinades

Is there any better cuisine than Indian when it comes to vegan food? Our pick is Bombay Aloo - essentially potatoes drowned in a tomato-based curry brimming with cumin and ginger flavours. There's a whole range of vegan dishes to try at Marinades though, with vegan roti to boot.

Ozmosis

You can’t go wrong with a Buddha Bowl and Ozmosis delivers. If you’re after something a little more substantial on a balmy evening in Edge Hill, they also offer vegan mozzarella for their pizzas, and plenty of vegan pasta options.

Lillipad Café

Known for their portion sizes, Lillipad is offers everything one could want. From lasagne to burritos, to cakes, and more recently cocktails, safe to say you’ve got options. Open what seems like always, Lillipad is like a trusty Swiss knife for a vegan in Cairns.

Envy Espresso

Another go-to coffee joint that delivers serious vegan goodness, Envy is a relatively new kid on the block. Along with the usual juices and what not, there's plenty of opportunity to make many of their already vego meals vegan. Plus they sell some of our favourite mugs around town.

Moku Bar + Grill 

Located in Novotel, Moku makes it easy to dip in and out (of the pool) for a tasty vegan feed. With vegan burgers and salads and everything in between, this spot is sure to satisfy a mixed bunch of dietary needs.

Bam Pow

A new spot up in Port, Bam Pow offers plant-based Asian street food. With classics such as bao buns, bahn mi's, and gyoza, there's nothing to complain about. Plus they have a killer cocktail menu and have opened to rave reviews.

Vitalia's Restaurant

Making for a perfect dinner spot, you'll be happy to hear that Vitalia's now offers an entire vegan menu.

Bagus Café

Stir-fried veg, tofu and tempeh, tossed together in a sticky peanut sauce? Yes please! You can also have mi goreng or nasi goreng with tofu or tempeh. Just ask for no egg for a vegan option.

Zinc Restaurant & Bar

Zinc prioritises local produce and fresh catch, and is more than happy to cater to a vegan palette. More of a fine dining experience, you'll have the pleasure of trying unique blends of textures rather than have to settle for the fries and tomato sauce.
