A 55-year-old man will front court today accused of a string of vandal attacks, including spray-painting a lizard and a horse, throwing rocks at cars and super gluing padlocks.

The vandalism occurred throughout the Earlville and Bungalow areas over the past year.

Police will allege that the man targeted multiple businesses and cars along Mulgrave Road, including a car sales company and a school.

He is accused of spray painting a horse at the Earlville pony club and also spray painting a lace monitor lizard before tying it to the gate of a car lot.

At the time, the RSPCA was called and the reptile was removed, treated and released.

Cars were also targeted at the business, with rocks thrown at them, while Balaclava State School had to remove dozens of graffiti scrawls and fix broken doors and windows.

Detectives located and arrested the man yesterday afternoon on Mulgrave Road, charging him with 16 counts of wilful damage.

He’s appearing in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.

Police believe there may be more victims and are urging anyone in that area who has had property damaged or graffitied to contact them.
