City's favourite Vietnamese coffee vendor moves into bigger premises

From a tiny stall on the fringes of Rusty's Markets to one of the most prominent retail spaces on Grafton St: Annee's Caphe is one of the city's most inspiring business success stories.

The lively cafe credited with introducing locals to the delicious flavours of Vietnamese iced coffee, Annee's Caphe has today opened for a soft launch of its new outlet on the Grafton St side of Rusty's Market, located in a former juice bar at the market's entrance.

While it's only 100 metres or so from her small original stall on the Sheridan St side of the markets, the new outlet is a world away from those humble beginnings.

Over the past two years, owner-operator Annee Tyme has grown her cafe from selling around 10 iced coffees a day to a buzzing, bustling institution where customers are happy to queue for their unique caffeine hit (and a range of other tasty treats).

"I really brought something different and unique to the city and the people of Cairns have really embraced it, and I'm so thankful for all of the amazing support," Annee told TropicNow.

"My story shows that Cairns is up for changes and open to trying new things.

"From the very start I was just so excited to share with Cairns what Vietnamese coffee has to offer, and I knew the climate here just suits our style of coffee perfectly.

"We've also worked really hard to provide excellent customer service, and we go by the motto of 'above and beyond'.

"Our customers have responded so well to all of those factors and we're very grateful for their support."

As further proof of the extraordinary rise of Annee's Caphe, the brand also operates out of the Cherries store on level 1 of Cairns Central and its most recent space at Rusty's will become a retail concept store, featuring products from Annee's own brand and other like-minded local businesses.

The new Grafton St outlet will have its official launch next Wednesday, September 20, and be open from 6.30am - 3pm from Wednesday through to Sunday.
