Dr. Karl set to mix science, brain power and fun at the annual Stress Less Day Lunch

Are you ready for one of the most entertaining, engaging and enlightening lunches of the year in Cairns?

To celebrate its 15th year, the annual Stress Less Day Lunch presented by Worklink has just announced Dr. Karl Kruszelnicki will be the keynote speaker at the Cairns Convention Centre on Wednesday 11th October.

The gala lunch event aimed at promoting good mental health and well-being will welcome the high-profile science identity for what organisers hope will be another sell-out event.

The lunch is held every year as part of Mental Health Awareness Week and aims to reduce stigma and educate the wider community that people with a mental illness can be active contributors to the workforce.

The Stress Less Day Lunch has regularly attracted around 400 attendees each year, with not-for-profit organisations, charities, the health sector and the business community coming together for the gala event.

Worklink Operations Manager Rebecca Cotton told TropicNow that the Stress Less Day Lunch was a great opportunity for the Cairns community to celebrate great mental wellbeing.

"It is very important to us that we continually work to improve the perception the community has of someone who experiences a mental illness," she said.

"This is our 15th year of hosting our annual Stress Less Day and it is sure to be another sell out with Dr. Karl joining us as our guest speaker.

"Dr. Karl is a magnanimous and enthusiastic speaker who connects the listener to the topic effortlessly.

"I am very excited to hear him speak about mental illness from a different perspective.

"This year is Worklink's 21st year supporting the Cairns community and I am excited to announce that we will be unveiling a new look approach for our future at the lunch."
