Police hunting for two teens after robbery

Police are investigating and looking for two teenagers after an elderly woman was robbed at Earlville yesterday afternoon.

The woman, 78, was walking along Rowe Street at Earlville just after 2pm when a male on a bicycle rode past her at very close range. She then felt a push from behind and fell to the footpath, dropping her purse and other items she was carrying.

The victim then saw a second male, also on a bicycle, reach down and steal her purse. Both males then rode off along Rowe Street.

The elderly victim suffered abrasions, bruising and swelling to her knees as a result of the incident, however did not require medical treatment.

Police patrolled the area but did not find the teens, who are described as being males of Torres Strait Islander appearance and possibly aged in their late teens.

Investigations are continuing and police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have information that could assist, to make contact with Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
