Police searching for two children missing from Mooroobool


UPDATE 2.10PM 27/7: A 15-year-old girl reported missing from Mooroobool has been located safe and well.

UPDATE 8.25PM 26/7: A 9-year-old boy reported missing from Mooroobool has been located safe and well.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance.

EARLIER: Police are searching for two children, a boy aged 9 and a girl aged 15, and are asking for the public's help to find them.

The children were reported missing separately and both were last seen in the Mooroobool area.


The boy was last seen at 4pm on 25 July 2017 on Frances Street and police hold concerns for his welfare because of his age.

He is described as Aboriginal in appearance, about 110cm tall with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a white and green shirt and green shirts.

The girl was last seen on 11 July 2017 on Lavender Street. She is described as Aboriginal in apperance, with a medium build and long dark hair. She was last seen wearing a long-sleeved hooded jumper with “Cairns” written on the back.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cairns police immediately.
