Cairns and Yarrabah's lockdown will end at 4pm today after no new positive COVID-19 cases were recorded in the region over the past 24 hours.

Four new cases have been recorded in Queensland, all linked to the Indooroopilly cluster. They are all in home quarantine.

The Far North region recorded 4476 tests in the past 24 hours.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said today's news is "exactly what we want to be seeing."

"Who would have thought a week ago we would have been in this position today," she said.

"Thank you, thank you for coming out and getting tested.

"Dr Young has asked that we keep the restrictions in place that we have for south-east Queensland … just to make sure we don’t have any community transmission."

Those restrictions include mask-wearing at all times when outside the home, except when eating or drinking, or exercising with your household or one other person.

Schools will reopen, with all staff and high school students wearing masks.

Businesses and venues are allowed one person per four square metres, or 50 percent seated capacity.

Up to 10 people are allowed in a residence, including people who live there.

These restrictions will apply until 4pm, 22 August.

Chief Health Officer Dr Jeanette Young said today's news is "really reassuring."

“Congratulations to the people of Cairns, you have really supported your community coming out," she said.

“It’s really important that you still come forward and get tested."

Additional venues were last night added to the list of exposure sites, stretching as far back as 23 July – the day the reef pilot left the ship he acquired the virus from.

The additional sites are all classed as casual contact sites, requiring those who have been there to isolate until they receive a negative test result.

It's been confirmed the taxi driver caught the Delta infection from the reef pilot when he drove him to Cairns Airport on 26 July.

There are now 156 active cases across Queensland.

More than 23,000 tests were conducted in Queensland over the past 24 hours.

Queensland Health says most results are available within 24 hours but there could be a lag of up to 48 hours.

Cairns swabs are being prioritised at the laboratories in Brisbane.

Health authorities say testing rates remain high, along with vaccination rates.

Pharmacies are taking walk-ins for the AstraZeneca jab for over 18s with no GP referral needed, while bookings won't be required tomorrow for vaccinations for people aged 60+ at the James Cook University (JCU) clinic.

JCU has both the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines.

Those aged 16 – 39 can now register their interest here to receive a jab through Queensland Health.

Anyone over 18 who wants the AstraZeneca vaccine can get it through these pharmacies.
