Troy Cassar-Daley to headline free Cairns show

Multi-award-winning country musician Troy Cassar-Daley will join hip hot artist Dizzy Doolan for a free show on the lawns of The Court House Gallery in Cairns next weekend.

With limited capacity, it will be a case of first in first served, with the doors opening at 6pm for a 7pm start.

The special event will feature a unique collaboration between the artists followed by solo sets.

Cassar-Daley, a Gumaynggirr and Bundjalung man, recently released his 11th studio album, The World Today, which debuted at number one on the ARIA All Australian and Country charts, and third on the overall ARIA chart.

He’s had a staggering 32 number one chart singles throughout his legendary career.

Local artist Dizzy Doolan, aka Charmaine Armstrong, is a Takalak, Agwamin, Gureng and Wokka Wokka woman originally from Townsville.

As well as singing and rapping, she’s an esteemed actor and dancer and has supported international superstars including Akon and T-Pain. 

The event is hosted by Cairns Regional Council’s Cultural Services arm.

A licenced bar will be onsite and show-goers are urged to bring picnics and rugs.

The concert is scheduled to wrap up at 9pm.
