Want to win the "best seats in the park" this New Year's Eve?

Our friends at CQUniversity Cairns have partnered with Cairns Regional Council to bring the party to the Esplanade.

CQUniversity Cairns and Far North Queensland Region Associate Vice-Chancellor Jodie Duignan-George said the prize winner would be treated to a fantastic New Year's Eve celebration.

“With our partners at council, CQUni Cairns will give one lucky winner the opportunity to enjoy the best spot on the Esplanade to catch both the 9pm and midnight fireworks with five of their friends/family members,” she said.

“And it’s not just a cosy spot on the grass – the ‘best seats in the park’ will included a designated, roped-off, VIP area that will be under a marquee and will feature six very bright and very comfortable CQUni beanbag recliners, non-alcoholic drinks and a platter of nibbles for the winner and their family or friends to enjoy.

“As we are also the naming right sponsor of the CQUniversity Cairns Taipans and the team will be playing a match on the night, we’ve also thrown in six platinum tickets to the Taipans New Year’s Eve home game against Perth (tip-off at 6pm) plus a parking pass for the winner.”

“The competition will be run on our Instagram social media platform and the concept will be to take a selfie of yourself with any Cairns landmark, post it on Instagram (your profile must be open so we can see it and not set to private) and tag your post with #CQUNINYE to go in the draw.”

The competition is open now and will close at 11.59pm on Monday, 18 December. The winner will be contacted by 5pm on Tuesday, 19 December.
