Love rules at TNQ wedding for Manu and Clarissa

One of TV's most popular foodies has thanked a host of local businesses for helping to make his secretive wedding ceremony at Mission Beach a "wonderful day".

My Kitchen Rules host Manu Feildel chose Elandra Resort at Mission Beach for his surprise nuptials to long-time partner Clarissa Weerasena last Monday.

Manu told New Idea the owner of Elandra Resort was a mate who was happy to host the intimate event for 20 family and friends.

"We were thinking about eloping and going far away to have a private time," Manu said.

"But as the years passed, we thought, 'Why go so far away when we live in this amazing country?'

"I remembered my friend had closed his resort to the public and was only doing parties and private functions, so I called him and said, 'Listen, there are going to be 20 of us.' And it just happened."

In an Instagram post to his 115,000 followers yesterday, Manu thanked TNQ businesses such as The Elandra and Blue Sky Photography for their work on the wedding.

Elandra Resort said the team had "such a blast" hosting the wedding, while Blue Sky Photography said wrote they were "very privileged to have been asked to photograph such a beautiful day".
