Sign of the times at Crystalbrook Collection's first hotel

The installation of a massive illuminated sign marks the final construction countdown for Riley, the first Crystalbrook Collection hotel set to open on the Cairns Esplanade on November 6.

Local business Status Signs were engaged to create and install the three-dimensional aluminium sign, featuring 2.3 metres high letters in four locations of the former Tradewinds building.

Status Signs owner Rhys Carmady said the scale of the project meant his crew had to utilise an 80-tonne crane with a working cage basket to reach the top level installation.

Crystalbrook Collection recently launched a locals' special for overnight stays, giving TNQ residents complimentary parking and a room upgrade from $194 per night until 19 December 2018.

A local's only deal for a full buffet breakfast at Paper Crane restaurant and bar will also be on offer for $28 per person.

“We are excited about our first highly-anticipated opening and we intend on showing our thanks to the community by inviting our locals to see it first,” Crystalbrook's area manager Joel Gordon said.
