Strong sales break ground on unique beachfront homes

Construction is set to start on a high-end residential apartment complex in Palm Cove, following strong off-plan sales.

Half of the six apartments at ‘Shara’ on the corner of Williams Esplanade and Harpa Street have been snapped up.

Sales started in February at $1.3 million, with the luxurious beachfront residences geared towards the downsizing owner-occupier market.

Belle Property marketing agent Nicholas Slatyer said he’s been pleased with the response for what is the first development to be sold off plan on the tightly held Esplanade for over a decade.

“We knew that there was gap in the market for a high-end residential style development and buyers responded incredibly well,” he said.

Designed for beachfront living by local architect David Quigley of Circa 2000, the three bedroom apartments will each have views to the Coral Sea, generous indoor and outdoor living spaces, quality finishings and basement parking.

Then there's the stunning rooftop pool.

Developer and Northern Beaches resident Bob Simkin said the four storey development sets a new residential benchmark for what is primarily a tourism enclave.

“We wanted to do something special with the site,” he said.

“We are excited to see it come out of the ground.”

Demolition on the site’s current structure, which houses a car rental business, is anticipated to begin by year’s end.

Construction is expected to begin by early 2020 and take 12 months.
