It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas in Cairns

Santa must be on his merry way to Cairns, as tickets to this year’s Christmas concert are flying out the sleigh.

There's just over half of the ticket allocation remaining for Getting in the Mood for Christmas, a one-night-only concert at Munro Martin Parklands on Saturday November 28.

Headlining the event will be special guest and supremo tenor, Adrian Strooper, as well as local singers, musicians and dancers from the Cairns Choral Society.

The program will also showcase the brilliant Cairns Brass, Cairns Young Voices, and the visually spectacular troupes from FNQ Dance Academy and Turning Pointe Dance Studios.

The locals will join global superstar Adrian Strooper, who's recently chosen to call Cairns his home.

Known across the world for his stunning operatic talents, Strooper has spent the last 10 years at the prestigious Komische Oper in Berlin.

Event organiser Joanne Wright said the Cairns Choral Society is thrilled to present this year's Christmas concert in conjunction with the Council.

“After what has been a challenging year, in which live performance has been limited and events cancelled, it's a joy to have the stage once again and to do our best to entertain,” Ms Wright said.

Concert-goers are invited to bring along a picnic blanket or low chair, and enjoy food and drinks from on-site vendors and a licenced bar.

Tickets are $28 per person (adult), $23 per child and $80 for a family of two adults and two children.

Groups of 10 plus can be purchased at $25 per person.
