Crystalbrook reopens Bailey with a new GM

Bailey has reopened today in a big way with the appointment of a new General Manager.

Lisa Brown will take on the role after joining Crystalbrook Collection late last year as Executive Assistant Manager for Flynn, and later Rooms Division Manager at Riley.

Her appointment coincides with the reopening of the Abbott St hotel after over six months of coronavirus-induced closure.

Lisa will oversee 255 rooms and residences alongside the hotel's signature restaurant CC’s Bar and Grill.

Speaking on her appointment, Lisa said her new role will grant her the opportunity to "be a part of reinvigorating the hospitality sector" in the region.

"I love that, as a new hotel group, we’re able to be agile, to do things a little differently and ensure that sustainable luxury and remarkable guest experiences are at the core of what we do, every day," she said.

"I’m excited to take the lead at Bailey and to work with our local artists to bring its thoughtful, arty personality to life.”

Crystalbrook's Area General Manager of Cairns Joel Gordon has welcomed Lisa's appointment as General Manager of Bailey.

“It is a challenging time for tourism in Cairns and we have utter confidence that Lisa will help reopen Bailey and re-establish the growing art program that sets the hotel apart,” he said.

Lisa will be replacing Carl Taranto, who will be staying with Crystalbrook Collection and moving to open the group’s newest five-star property, Kingsley, in Newcastle.
