Taipans and Hottest 100 tunes are how the Tropic team's spending the weekend.
The weather's also looking (relatively) dry and perfect for Boardwalk Social's pool party on Sunday.
We've rounded up the best events in and around Cairns over the short break. Check out the lineup below.
Friday 22 January
Friday night brings the Barrier Reef Big Bash draft at Backyard Cairns. Each of the four teams will pick 14 players ahead of the BBL-style cricket competition's start next month.
Tonight also marks the launch of a new Tanks exhibition. The Safe Arrivals Project presents Dr Tom Wright and Dr Tim Warnock's time spent delivering babies at Cairns Private Hospital.
Saturday 23 January
The Yungaburra Markets are also on from 7:30am, bringing together about 250 local growers, producers and artisans in the Tablelands town.
The Cairns Taipans are still in town and scheduled to play Sydney Kings again, 7pm this Saturday. It'll be a close one as we only had one point up on the southern side in last weekend's game.
Sunday 24 January
UFC 257 fans unite: Poirier's set to confront McGregor and there's no shortage of big screens covering all the action across Cairns.
A more chilled Sunday's going down at Boardwalk Social's Sundaze, with frozen daiquiris and margaritas being served all afternoon.
Unseen Cinema is screening A Lion Returns, an emotionally-charged and intense drama about a returned Australian militant. The film's on at Earlville Cinema from 4:30pm.
Monday 25 January
It's not on this weekend, but Monday's Taipans game is worth mentioning. Get in quick to see the Orange Army combat Melbourne United from 6:30pm – there's only limited tickets left.
