There's no shortage of activities this week! The Tablelands Folk Festival is on, Cairns Pride Fest continues, GBR Ocean Swim is back, there's live music and theatre at Tanks and Bulmba-ja, Trash to Treasure returns to the Buy Back Shop, and so much more.

The Trinity Bay State High School performing arts department presents their annual Night of Innovation, showcasing their music, drama, and arts students work.

Thursday 20 October

I is Maggie continues its' run this weekend at JUTE Theatre. You can purchase your tickets online, and find out more about Maggie's inspiring story.

Royal Rehab is hosting an education and info session for allied health professionals sharing the possibilities and impact of Advanced Technology in Rehabilitation, including Royal Rehab’s vision for Cairns. You can register online, and even go in the draw to win a trip for 2 to Sydney!

Cairns Pride Fest continues with the Seniors Morning Tea & Panel at QC. The day will also offer an opportunity to chat with the Queensland Council for LGBTI Health staff, ask questions about aged care, and how to go about navigating that space in your life.

Big Pups is playing at Three Wolves tonight following on from his set at Savannah in the Round. No cover, so first in first serve.

The Sikhs in FNQ Project in collaboration with the Cairns Museum and Australian Sikh Heritage Association are hosting a sold out event to celebrate 125 years of Sikh migration to FNQ.

Friday 21 October

As part of Cairns  Pride Fest, Queer Cairns Fundraising brings you 2 days of Clothes Swaps, with a range of vintage and preloved clothes up for grabs. Celebrations continue at XS with Carte Blanche performing.

Cameron Cusack and Anais Campbell are performing at the Tanks with support from John Land. Tickets can be purchased online.

The Tablelands Folk Festival is back in Yungaburra. Running all weekend long, there'll be market stalls, competitions, live music and performances, and plenty more to get involved in.

Brother Jenkins is hosting a Friday Feast, featuring their usual eclectic mix of music, DJ's, great food, drinks, and art. This time round, the event showcases 'Under Pressure, artworks by Kane Maneylaws and Wally Wallwork. $10 on entry.

Mucho Love Cafe and Latin Dance Club are hosting a Latin Night Party. The event will have plenty of Argentinean drinks and food on offer, and no doubt there'll be dancing. Tickets available online.

Saturday 22 October

The sold out Vika and Linda show is on tonight. Proving to be a popular event, if you managed to nab yourself some tickets, it'll no doubt be a great night.

Motel Nomad is hosting the Out of the Blue Exhibition and After Party featuring unseen artworks by Jean-Louis Lebreux. 

Trash to Treasure is back at The Buy Back Shop 9am-1pm. The day will have a range of workshops running sharing ways to reuse and repurpose everyday items, materials, and clothing that would otherwise go to landfill.

Rockaria - The Elo Experience is on at CPAC. The show recreates the unforgettable sound of Jeff Lynne’s The Electric Light Orchestra. Tickets are available online.

Bespoke Stitchery is hosting a timely workshop helping you make your own summer dress. It's byo sewing machine, book online.

Circus Carnivale presented by Pole Play Studios is on at CPAC tonight. The show will have performances by burlesque dancers and pole athletes.

The German Club is hosting its final Oktoberfest celebrations. The day is family friendly 3-7pm, becoming R18 from 7.30pm.

Great Barrier Reef Ocean Swim Series is on today. The event takes place at Moore Reef, with simmers out through a 1500 meter course. Following on, there is an afterparty at Novotel hotel.

The Secret Jungle presents Spooky Saturdays, a themed night with speciality drinks. This time it'll be a goth and punk playlist with music from classics such as Bauhaus, Banshees, and The Clash.

Sunday 23 October

It's Pride Fair Day at Fogarty Park. There are stalls, entertainment, a bake-off competition, chill out spaces, food, connection spaces and more. This is a free family friendly event.

Cairns Pregnancy and Baby Expo is on at the Showgrounds, entry is a gold coin donation.

The Cairns Taipans are back with another home game against the New Zealand Breakers. Grab your tickets!

Tanks Markets are back for another month with the usual spread including local creations and produce.

Rotary Club of Cairns West is hosting their second Mystery Adventure Drive. The event takes participants on a scenic drive around FNQ with passengers needing to solve clues to get to the next stop. Book your spot or register a team.
