Get ready for a massive party in the Cairns CBD!

TropicNow's foodie festival Meet Eat Repeat, a star-studded live music concert and guided tours will come together in a massive free celebration at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre Open Day on Saturday June 22.

For the very first time, Florence Street will be closed to traffic, connecting CPAC and Munro Martin Parklands, with Meet Eat Repeat transforming the roadway into a temporary foodie heaven with some of the city's best restaurants and pop-up vendors.

Alongside Meet Eat Repeat, the Munro Martin Parklands will feature a surprise big-name performer on stage while tours of the new state-of-the-art CPAC building will also be held throughout the afternoon.

The massive event will be a milestone for the city, bringing CPAC, Florence St and the Parklands - collectively known as The Precinct - to life for the first time.

Mayor Bob Manning, who announced the celebration today, said it would give everyone in the community a "chance to see exactly what these facilities can deliver".

Make sure you follow the Meet Eat Repeat and Cairns Performing Arts Centre pages on Facebook for more announcements and details.

The June 22 open day is a free event, kicking off at 4pm with six hours of food and entertainment.

The public is encouraged to bring along friends and family and a chair or picnic rug to kick back and enjoy.
