Search for missing toddler on remote cattle station to continue into night

Police divers are today joining the search for a toddler last seen playing with his dog in a shed near a cattle station homestead on Cape York.
They'll be accompanied by snipers who will be on the lookout for crocodiles.

An aerial and ground search for a toddler missing in a remote area of Tropical North Queensland will continue into the night.
Two year-old Ruben Scott was last seen at 5pm Tuesday on the cattle property at Maramie, about 100 kilometres east of Kowanyama.
‘We doing all we can to find this young fella,” said Cape Patrol Inspector Mark Henderson.
"It’s a bit cool here but it is North Queensland.
“The countryside itself is rugged and challenging.
“The local community here and in Kowanyama have been great and I’d like to thank everyone for their on-going efforts in trying to find this little boy.”
Police, SES personnel and staff from Koolatah Station, as well as rangers and workers from a construction site in Kowanyama are involved in the search.
They’re traversing the property on foot, while two private helicopters and two drones are being used to search from above.
A sweep of the immediate area was conducted by family, station staff and local police last night.
The search was broadened today as extra resources arrived in the area.
