Kate Miller-Heidke: from Eurovision to Cairns

Eurovision star and The Masked Singer fan favourite Kate Miller-Heidke is coming to Cairns, playing at Munro Martin Parklands on December 6.

Following the release of her first pop album in six years, Child In Reverse, Miller-Heidke is promising another spellbinding performance that has seen her captivate audiences across the world.

The show is a continuation of Cairns' upcoming season of stellar entertainment.

After performing to global audiences at Coachella, Eurovision and New York’s  Metropolitan Opera, Miller-Heidke is excited to share her return to pop music with her home state.

“I keep getting drawn back to pop music,” she said.

“The minimalism, the economy ... I find that incredibly rewarding and challenging.

“It’s like a quest to nail the perfect pop song. When it can be done, for me, as a listener, it’s my favourite music.”

The superstar’s show follows hot on the heels of an awesome weekend in the Parklands, with this year’s Understory Film Festival hosting 700 attendees.

A Cairns Cultural Services spokesperson said the city was lapping up its latest batch of entertainment with a series of sell-out shows.

“Just a week since its announcement, more than half of the ticket allocation sold for the Getting in the Mood for Christmas concert on Saturday 28 November,” they said.

“It's heartening to see people out and about again and enjoying great entertainment in a COVID-safe environment.”

Concert-goers are invited to bring along a picnic, low set chair or rug and take advantage of the onsite food vendors and licensed bar.

Tickets for the glittering, one-night show are on sale now for $59 (Adult) or $49 (Concession/Youth). Get yours here.
