Tickets to the most popular events of the annual Cairns Amateurs Spring Racing Carnival are being snapped up in record time.

A month out from all the fun, fashion and racing, just a handful of tickets remain for the ANZ Gala Ball and the Captain Morgan Tropical Fashion High Tea, with sales even faster than last year.

With borders now open, Far North Queensland’s pinnacle social event of the year is also attracting plenty of interest from interstate.

60 punters from Victoria are in one group alone to catch all the glamour and action that ‘Racing on the Great Barrier Reef’ will offer between the 8th and 10th September.

“Spring is the perfect time to visit Cairns,” said Cairns Amateurs President David Goodman.

“Sunny days with a light breeze and cool nights provide the perfect conditions to dress up and enjoy a fun afternoon trackside or glamorous evening under the stars.

“Not surprisingly, Cairns Amateurs is a powerful drawcard for visitors to this region and punches well above its weight in providing great memories – not just your habitual racegoers or fashion-set but anyone looking for a good time in the great outdoors.

“Preserving this history while evolving its future is a fine balance and a responsibility to the community that we take seriously.”

The Gala Ball this year takes its cue from ringmaster PT Barnum, who was celebrated in the biographical musical drama, The Greatest Showman

A fundraiser for the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation, it includes live music, fireworks and a three course dinner from award-winning Ochre Restaurant and Catering.

Also on the program is the President’s Welcome Cocktail Party and a suite of trackside packages, including an all-inclusive membership package for two people across both days.

General admission is $25 per person if you book online or $35 at the gate.

Membership packages cost $328 for two people.

All tickets can be purchased through the event’s website.
