Playground upgrade set to cause a spin

Hey kids (and parental chauffeurs), we’ve got some big news for you: Muddy’s is getting a makeover!
Cairns Regional Council has confirmed some of the much-loved Esplanade playground’s older features will be replaced with two new squeal-worthy installations.
The ageing playground near Muddy’s Café will make way next month for the Twin Mega Tower and double Mouse House adventure facilities.
The Twin Mega Towers will offer kid-sized clambering in spades, with slides, climbing areas, a crawling tunnel and two high platforms, while the Mouse House consists of two “mouse wheels” for children to slip and scramble inside.
Work, scheduled to commence May 10, will take up to four weeks to complete, but fret not: only the affected playground will be off-limits during construction, with all other facilities – including the wet-play areas – open as usual.
Extremely popular with local and visiting families, Muddy’s is ranked as the second-best playground in Queensland by TripAdvis
